Charles Kopel

Charles Kopel joined Radice Law Firm in May 2025. He has extensive experience litigating individual and class antitrust actions concerning anticompetitive conduct in the markets for pharmaceuticals, financial instruments, and other products.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kopel has served on litigation teams in numerous antitrust actions, including:

  • CareFirst of Maryland, Inc. et al. v. Johnson & Johnson et al., No. 2:23-CV-00629 (E.D. Va.), a class action on behalf of end payors alleging that Johnson & Johnson engaged in a multi-part scheme to delay entry of biosimilar competition to its highly profitable biologic drug Stelara.
  • In re European Government Bonds Antitrust Litigation, No. 1:19-CV-02601 (S.D.N.Y.), a class action alleging that six banking institutions colluded, at the expense of U.S.-based investors, to fix the prices of euro-denominated bonds issued by eurozone governments (resulting in a total settlement recovery of $120 million).
  • In re Mexican Government Bonds Antitrust Litigation, No. 1:18-CV-02830 (S.D.N.Y.), a class action alleging that nine banking institutions colluded, at the expense of U.S.-based investors, to fix the prices of Mexican government bonds (resulting in settlement recovery of $20.7 million, with ongoing claims against multiple defendants).
  • Dennis et al. v. JPMorgan Chase & Co. et al., No. 1:16-CV-06496 (S.D.N.Y.), a class action alleging that fifteen banking institutions and two brokerage firms conspired to manipulate the Bank Bill Swap Reference Rate (“BBSW”), an important Australian dollar interest rate benchmark, at the expense of U.S.-based investors (resulting in a total settlement recovery of $186 million).

Prior to joining Radice Law Firm, Mr. Kopel practiced antitrust litigation at Lowey Dannenberg, P.C. He is admitted to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania; the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; and the Second, Third, and Eleventh Circuits of the United States Court of Appeals.

Mr. Kopel earned his J.D. from the New York University School of Law (2017), and graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University (2014). Outside of legal practice, he serves as an editor of Jewish periodical The Lehrhaus. He is father to three wonderful kids.
